Did you realize that the 13 volunteer quiz editors have reviewed over 11,500 quizzes since last September?

If your quiz gets launched within 3 days you should consider yourself lucky!

With almost 9000 members now there are a lot more quizzes getting written...last time I sat down to edit there were 92 quizzes in the queue; I reviewed 8 quizzes (it took about 45 minutes); then there were 93 quizzes in the queue!!! AND another editor was editing at the same time!

You guys are just writing them way faster than we can edit!!

Luckily we have two new editors currently learning the ropes, so all we can say is...please be patient!

And DO keep writing quizzes - the more the merrier

So..............what do you have to do to be an editor?I am sure there are a lot of people here who could be trained.Gee ya make me feel as if i am a dummy.

If you have already had an editor give you feedback then your quiz is 'owned' by that editor and they must have gotten caught up in 'real life'! So that just can't be helped.

And I'm not sure what I said to make you feel 'like a dummy'...
I certainly never intended to do that.

So far the process for becoming an editor has been pretty much by personal invitation from Justin. He has maintained a balance of men and women, from many parts of the globe, and of widely varying ages. Collectively we write quizzes that cover the entire spectrum of quiz categories.

Just keep writing quality quizzes, posting thought provoking questions and responses here on chat, and dealing fairly with other Sploofusers. If you have an interest in becoming an editor it will be noticed, I'm sure

As a relative newbie and author of quizzes I need a bit of clarification. When one receives helpful corrections to a submitted quiz, makes the corrections and resubmits, does one go back to the end of the line submission wise?

Love the quizzes and have as much thinking them up and taking them. Keep up the fun work.

Nope rev66 - you only have to wait in the line once! Once an editor opens your quiz, though, they "own" the quiz. So your resubmitted quiz goes right to the front of that editor's line. Unless that editor is still online and editing, though, you may have to wait a day or two (or sometimes more) for him/her to return to the editing process, depending on how much time they spend sploofusing.

I a mputting this on here as it is about waiting times.

If the quizzes are editted in strict rotation then how does a quiz that had 7 in front of it on Friday still have 7 in front of it now - when 2 quizzes I submitted on Saturday (89 and 91 in front at submission) go live within 36 hours?
Do quizzes ever get lost in the system? I am a little worried that this one is lost - wouldn't normally be that bothered but it is on one of my favourite subjects.

Mrsgc, I took a look and it appears that the editor who picked up your quiz in the queue has not been able to complete it for some reason. It's possible that the editor has not logged in for the past few days. Editors are asked to commit to only a few hours each week. Luckily, many of us are addicted players so we edit lots more than Justin asks us to! Hopefully, your quiz will be launched soon.

Thanks for letting me know. I had visions it floating lost in cyber space somewhere lol

I realise you are busy people and that some of you are weird and have lives outside of the internet. Can't see the appeal myself but I suppose it takes all sorts

Do Editors pick a bulk load of quizzes up at one time?

No, we don't have any way to select quizzes. If I am editing, I automatically get the next quiz in the queue and I can't get another one unless I approve the quiz or send it back to the author, so I can only access one new quiz at any given time.
Of course If I send back a number of quizzes to authors and they all come back at once, then those will automatically be given to me next in the order they were returned. I can't access any new quizzes until the returned ones are taken care of.

Well I am totally puzzled then.
I submitted my Maine Coon Cats quiz on 27 Jan.
On 28 Jan I submitted 2 other quizzes that went live withing 36 hours. (see my post higher up thread for further details)
since 29 30 Jan the Maine Coon cats quiz has been stuck with 2 in front of it.

I know Sploofette replied on the 30th saying it was with an editor - but I would have thought that I might have had it back by now if there was some problem with it.

Not nagging just confused about the delay.

Just be patient about the quizzes...they will eventually be launched....I've had long waits also but they do get reviewed. I sometimes forget that the editors have other lives outside of Sploofus. Keep up the good work guys...

In re: My earlier message. I received a note from an editor on Jan. 28 wth suggested changes which I made and returned it on the same day. Have heard nothing since then. Waiting patiently and getting some more quizzes ready.
Love the site and the game.

Rev - I can see that you have written two quizzes with almost identical titles about Opera... and they are both in the "under construction" phase - neither is currently in our editing queue. Perhaps you forgot to hit the launch button after making your changes???

Mrsgc, I sincerely apologize for the delay. It appears as though the owning editor has not logged on recently. Your quiz shoud be approved as soon as the editor gets to it. It has not been flagged for any problems. Hang in there!

Thanks for the clue. I just launched the revised version again. The second problem is that I ha started the quiz dated January 12 and in the middle of building the quiz my computer chut down for some reason leaving the quiz incomplete. It should be deleted but I don't know how. Thanks again.

My pleasure! It has a nice touch of giving us a little bit about each opera without bogging down into too many details. I wondered what had happened to the quiz, but we can't send individuals private messages unless we are returning a quiz to them.

Oh, and on the other version of the quiz, you can change the title and delete all the questions and convert the whole thing into a new quiz. I've done it a few times on quizzes I've abandoned for one reason or another.
