Hi All,

Ok so I'm not trying to sound bitter or jealous but currently on wordround 30964 some dude called 99wazza is winning with a score of 5.6 seconds. Maybe it's just me but that seems a tad fast. How in good God's name is he getting them that quick? Even if you knew all the answers previously which I've been assured is impossible you'd still struggle to hit them all in that time.
Any ideas??

Two possibilities: glitch or practice.

I've come to realize that, like in the Wild West, there are hust some folks quicker on the draw than may seem possible. I'm not one of them. Anytime I can crack 20 seconds is a day of rejoicing. Yet there are folks who owuld consider 20 a mediocre time.

Now for 5 second, I'm betting there wa a glitch involved, a hiccup in the Sploofus universe. But there are some pretty dexteritous digits out there....

As someone who has beaten this subject to death in the past, allow me.
Sometimes, the system will hang for a few seconds and the quiz taker ends up with an extraordinary time. Like 5 secs.
The majority of the time, the quiz taker has been around for a while, and is just plain REALLY good at taking the WM/WR's.
Some people have lightning fast connections and systems which also helps. Best thing to do, is not get frustrated, just work on beating your own times.
Couple of hints -- scans the puzzles instead of reading each word and keep your finger on the enter button and hit it rather than click with mouse -- will save you some time. Good Luck!

Woman - I don't think I'd ever read the "enter" rather than click hint. (If I did it went over, under, around, but definitely not THROUGH my brain). Thank you for sharing - or sharing again!

Smoke turned me on to it, so credit goes to her!

I used to think Slicko and Jeremy cheated-not that time makes a whit of difference to me nor do points-don't think that any more. My son grew up on video games and computers and he is just plain fast ang good-fact that's how he makes his living. Me, I greww up with yoyos and at some point Frisbees so excuse myself because I am neither fast nor many times accurate- as didn't even own a computer until past age 60-it's a "game" folks like those of us who remember "Clue" and "Monopoly" used to p[ay. If you went home with friendships in tact considered yourself a "winner". Believe that is the attitude one must have here in order to maintain sanity-again, just my opinion-Linda

When I first started playing them about a year ago one minutes was good for me. Now I can get 100% in about 30 seconds; although never faster than that. I'm happy when I get under 30 and 100%. I look at the "big dogs" and just think "good on ya, mate".

I used to get scores in the 20's most times, then when Beta came in I started to get really good times, 17, 16, 15 ,14 and even down to 12 and 11. I won a lot of rounds. I think some of it was me as my lowest score pre beta was 18, but............... I set my computer back to factory settings yesterday as I was having a few problems with it. Now I am back to scoring in the 20s so feel that a certain pc can give faster times. I am a bit disappointed, but never felt comfortable with the 12s and 13s as I felt it wasn't really me doing it. I would like to add, that at no time could I ever tell whether I was going to get a score of 25 or one of 11. This was what I didn't like as I felt it was out of my control and people may have thought I was cheating in some way. Now I will just have to go back to trying a lot harder which although frustrating does make me feel that I am competing properly

There's absolutely no way to cheat at WR's or WM's, so don't feel bad. Nice job on your scores.

I took a snapshot of my 13 and posted it in my gallery and I knew it wasn't a fluke as I just knew them all

Enter is the best way to do it - just make sure you don't hit it before you click your last answer (from experience)

And wear your reading glasses! That has shaved many seconds off my score! It's totally worth my teenager laughing at me (they are ugly glasses). Practice will improve your times - hang in there.

I personally don't care what my time is, so long as it is a score of 100%. About a month ago, I got a personal best,100% in 27.5 secs and I came in about 15th. I can get up with my two lovely Labs around 3 AM, get a 30 second round and be in the top 5-10. Oops was I suppose to let it out of the bag. My youngest son, who is a junior in college got a 100% 26 second word round on his third try. All three of my sons think my wife and I are nuts doing this instead of watching the boob tube. Two of them say they can beat the system in less than a week. I don't think so. I do know one thing, all these kids can beat any video put on the market.

Just an FYI - the ENTER key to submit doesn't work for me on the Mac.
