Tricky tricky Sploofusaurus - but lots of fun and ultraclever. Great puzzle.

I tanked it pretty bad. Two puzzles were "pac-men".

My bad- not the author- was very clever!
I'll be up to the challenge if another homophone appears.

I ran out of peppermint patties ---- that must be it!

Thanks for another great WP, Sploofusaurus! This wasn't just a brainteaser but a brain-twister! That means I had a lot of fun and got a good workout, thanks!

Aarrrrgh! A great brain twister, but my wife came over to stop me from pounding my head against the keyboard.

I'd like another set, if only to redeem myself!

At least one of mine did not contain an actual homophone -- more of an overall pun. And one had a homophone, but didn't make much sense. This was not a favorite puzzle for me. Maybe the five phrases I didn't get to see were better.

Enjoyed the puzzle, missed a few letters. I thought it was fun.

For anyone interested, here were my five phrases, all of which made sense to me:

cleaning windows is a pane
i think the new fireplace is just grate
the gardener bought a two carrot ring for his sweetheart
who played kernel potter in mash
the spaniard basqued in the sun

I found the third phrase especially hilarious, and it made me laugh out loud.
