A VARIATION OF THE NEVER-ENDING THREAD!

This thread is called "Geography". The point is to list a location (city, state, ocean, country, whatever) without every repeating an entry that has been used earlier. You can do this by hitting CONTROL F and typing in your entry. It will tell you if it's been used or not.

I will start with a location - the next person uses the last letter of my entry to list a new location, and so on. Have fun! There are millions of places in the world to list. And if you can't think of one, Googling is not out of the question!

I'll start with the city I live in - Sarasota

Indiana, PA calls itself the "Christmas Tree Capital of the World" because the national Christmas Tree Grower's Association was founded there. It is also the home of Indiana University of Pennsylvania -- which gets almost as many "Huh?" responses as one of its sister institutions, California University of Pennsylvania.

Evans City, PA -- Evans City once had "the nations only railway depot that was built over water. Spanning the Breakneck Creek on iron beams for support, the picturesque railway station was an iconic landmark of breathtaking architecture. Due to its age and growing structural instability, and against much popular protest, the station was finally demolished in the early 1980’s rather than restored." Everyone I know from that area bitterly regrets the loss of that interesting RR depot.

Atlanta Georgia -- Site of the 1996 Summer Olympic Games

A bomb exploded in Centennial Olympic Park killing one woman and wounding 111 others. A man died of a heart attack as he ran from the scene. Eric Robert Rudolph was convicted of the bombing.

"Rudolph's justification for the bombings according to his April 13, 2005 statement, was political:

[Rudolph stated] In the summer of 1996, the world converged upon Atlanta for the Olympic Games. Under the protection and auspices of the regime in Washington millions of people came to celebrate the ideals of global socialism. Multinational corporations spent billions of dollars, and Washington organized an army of security to protect these best of all games. Even though the conception and purpose of the so-called Olympic movement is to promote the values of global socialism, as perfectly expressed in the song Imagine by John Lennon, which was the theme of the 1996 Games even though the purpose of the Olympics is to promote these despicable ideals, the purpose of the attack on July 27 was to confound, anger and embarrass the Washington government in the eyes of the world for its abominable sanctioning of abortion on demand.
The plan was to force the cancellation of the Games, or at least create a state of insecurity to empty the streets around the venues and thereby eat into the vast amounts of money invested."
