How do I get AOL to work with Sploofus?
There are known compatability issues between Sploofus and AOL. Here is what you need to
do if you are an AOL user:
- First, insure that your Sploofus messages are not being put in your AOL spam folder. To do
this, click the "Spam Folder" link on the bottom left of your AOL Inbox. If there are any Sploofus
messages in the Spam Folder, simply click them once to highlight them and then click on the "This is
not spam" button on the bottom.
- Add the following e-mail address to your AOL Address Book: fun@sploofus.com
- Ensure that "Allow mail from all senders" is selected (Keyword: Spam, then choose Spam Controls). There is a box
which allows mail with clickable hyperlinks, BE SURE THIS IS CHECKED.
- If you do not allow mail to have clickable links, you will need to COPY & PASTE your Sploofus trivia links manually into the
URL/Address bar.
- Be sure that blocked mail is sent to your spam folder (as opposed to being permanently deleted which is the default option), this
way you will NOT permanently lose your legitimate e-mail messages that AOL mistakingly filters and flags as junk/bulk mail.
I signed up but am not getting trivia questions,
why?
This could be due to:
- You entered your email address incorrectly when signing up. Login to
your account at the Sploofus main page using your selected username and
password. From the account management options, select "Change my
email address" and insure that you have the correct address entered.
- Your e-mail is being filtered and Sploofus messages are being flagged as
bulk/junk mail. AOL, Hotmail, Yahoo! and MSN spam filters many times
flag or delete legitimate email. Either lower your filter settings or
set sploofus.com to be a trusted sender. This will insure you always
receive your Sploofus trivia questions, prize notifications and Showdown
Challenges.
The easiest way to do this if you are using AOL or Hotmail/Yahoo/MSN is add the following e-mail address
to your Address Book within AOL/Hotmail/Yahoo: fun@sploofus.com
Can I have a high-end trivia system on my web site?

- Maximize your wagers on categories you are most comfortable with

Can I answer more than one question per day?
Only if you stage or defend a Showdown Challenge. Occasionally you may
get a "Second Chance" when answering a question incorrectly.
How do I link to Sploofus from my web site?
Simple! Copy and paste the following code into the HTML on any web page
you desire. Or, if you wish to earn POINTS for linking to Sploofus, login to account management and select
Sploofus LinkPoints from the drop down menu.
Can I have multiple Sploofus accounts?
No. Please note that prize winners and wager token redeemers have their IP addresses
logged. Winnings may be suspended to suspicious users utilizing the same
IP address repeatedly throughout their account history. This is done only
to maintain the fair, competitive nature of multiplayer trivia.
How do I change my Sploofus e-mail address?
Login at the Sploofus main page with your username and password, and select
"Modify email address" from the account management drop down options.
Is there a referral program?
Yes! And it rewards you with Sploofus Points for each person your
refer. Just login at the Sploofus main page with your username and
password, and select "Refer your friends" from the account management
drop down options.
How can I possibly compete against veteran players?
New players may start out somewhat discouraged when looking at the
leaderboard. Level 1 questions only reward a few Sploofus Points, and the
all-time leaders can sometimes have thousands of points! Never fear.
As you progress you will begin to take advantage of wager tokens and Sploofus
Showdowns. These items can multiply your hard-earned Sploofus points many
times over. Player's on the leaderboard can regularly lose wagers and cash
in their points in the Sploofus Rewards Program. These are the mechanisms
that keep new players consistently climbing the leaderboard. In addition,
there may be prizes for monthly leaders, regardless of game play level. There
may also be prizes for leaders in each level. So don't be discouraged.
Be diligent and be patient. This multiplayer trivia game is engineered so
that you'll get there!
Can I start my own Sploofus Edition?
Yup! For example, if you are a music buff you can have a proprietary
music trivia platform on your web site that is setup, executed and hosted
entirely by Sploofus.com for a nominal fee. Just contact
us for more info!
An error prevented me from answering my question, now what?
Please report the error, the edition, the category
and the question (if possible) and in certain circumstances we may re-send a
question to you. 99% of the time the error will have been caused by a
communications disruption with your ISP. In this situation, nothing can be
done, and a question will not be re-sent.
