The Films of Rainer Werner Fassbinder

|"The star that burns twice as bright burns half as long; and you have burned so very brightly...", is a quote from Ridley Scott's "Blade Runner" (1982), but it is a line of dialogue that always makes me think of the great German filmmaker, Rainer Werner Fassbinder.|
His career as a director, writer, and actor lasted only fifteen years (he died of an overdose of cocaine and sleeping pills at the age of 37), but during that time Fassbinder completed an astonishing 35 feature length films, 3 shorts, 2 television series, 24 stage plays and 4 radio plays, in addition to acting in 36 films. A most frenetic pace to be sure!
What he left behind is a body of work unlike any other in scope and subject. What has become known as "The BRD Trilogy" is a great place for the uninitiated to start. I also highly recommend the fifteen-plus hour long "Berlin Alexanderplatz" (1980). Though originally aired on German television, "Alexanderplatz" is a benchmark in the world of cinema which may never be equalled, and is requisite viewing for anyone with a passing interest in film.
Fill in the blanks to complete the US film titles that were written and directed by a talent the likes of which we shall never see again; the late, great Rainer Werner Fassbinder.
