What's in a Name?-- Musicians and their Companions

vat69erVat69er on 09/28/2009

trivia quiz Over the decades popular musical groups have been named in a variety of ways. The (politically incorrect) "Seven Spades" was billed as "the Greatest Combination of Ragtime Instrumentalists, Singers, and Dancers when it toured British dance halls in 1917. During the Dance Band Era of the '20s-'40s, the leader was highlighted (eg, Glenn Miller and His Orchestra). By the '50s-'60s and beyond, simplified titles (eg, Lettermen, Beatles, Commodores, U2) re-emphasized the notion of a leader. And yet....many notable groups have linked a leader with a 'tag' to create a unique moniker. In this quiz I'll list the lead name. Can you select the correct 'companions'?
