|More problems for the band led to the title of this album. Robert's son Karac died, and the band's management caused them to go into taxation exile. |
The album itself is the 3rd to contain all original material, was the last recorded before John's death, and contains the only 2 original songs that Jimmy had no part in writing. Robert and John Paul had a larger share of the writing as John and Jimmy were struggling with alcoholism and heroin addiction, respectively.
Despite all the pain and struggles, this is a great album that contains memorable numbers and one song that is rather country or rockabilly in sound.
Interesting note: the album sleeve was a brown paper wrapper, as pictured, but when that was removed, you would find one of 6 pictures in sepia tones. A wipe across the picture with water would permanently color a portion of the picture. Each is of a man at a bar burning a Dear John letter, as seen as if taken by one of 6 people in the bar.
