I'm very sorry but I believe that the spell that ended up defeating Voldemort was the Avada Kedavra curse. It is true that Harry used Expelliarmus on the night that he confronted Voldemort and You-Know-Who used the Avada Kedavra curse. This curse rebounded and ended up killing Voldemort because the Elder Wand(the wand Voldemort was using that night) didn't want to kill it's master(Harry).
Sirius Black was incarcerated for 12 years, not 13. He was put in Azkaban when Harry was 1, and got out when he was 13. It's on the HP Lexicon, too. Just thought you should know. :]

It clearly states that Harry is 13 and that Sirius was in Askaban for almost all of Harry's life.
But, when Sirius asks Ron how long wormtail has been in the family as a rat, he says 12 years.
And Sirius didn't go to Askaban until after wormtail "died".
