Though much is taken, much abides; and though
We are not now that strength which in old days
Moved earth and heaven; that which we are, we are;
One equal temper of heroic hearts,
Made weak by time and fate, but strong in will
To strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield.
~~Alfred, Lord Tennyson - Ulysses [in old age]

Political discussion:
"As a final note on the whole "teabagger" controversy, I'll just say that there are many, many words and combinations of words that may be used innocently, but also have sexual connotations. Suck, for instance, and blow, as in "this vacuum cleaner both sucks AND blows." It's silly to feign offense at being called a teabagger while you have teabags hanging from your hat. Offense is in the intent. If someone is calling you a teabagger because you fancy yourself part of a quasipolitical movement that may actually cause you to wear teabags about your person or send them through the mail and otherwise use them as symbols or accessories, I think you have forfeited the right to take umbrage at being called a teabagger, simply on the grounds that it is also an obscure term for a little-known sexual practice. If we can no longer use terms that also happen to refer to sex acts, how will we ever again be able to talk about ingesting food, drinking through straws or inflating balloons?"

Roe v Wade was not the beginning of women having abortions. It was the end of women dying from having abortions

All good is hard. All evil is easy. Lying, losing, cheating, and mediocrity is easy. Stay away from easy.

Socialism never took root in America because the poor see themselves not as an exploited proletariat, but as temporarily embarrassed millionaires.”
