Welcome to the May Community Quizzes -- a game for quiz takers and makers. I chose the United Kingdom because that is one of my most favorite destinations in the world. Most of the people in the British Isles are descended from Celts who are thought to have arrived there around 450 B.C. The mountain areas of Wales, Scotland and Ireland have remained mostly Celtic. Later, around A.D. 400 to 1000 new groups of people arrived. The Angles and Saxons came from Germany and Denmark. The Vikings came from Scandinavia. The last group to arrive were the Normans, coming from northern France. All of my questions were checked either with a bunch of my travel books, wikipedia.com and the last question, was in the travel section of my local newspaper. I must go there!
