|Most people are already familiar with the phenomenon of sweets and candies producing a seemingly mood raising effect but followed inevitably by a crash. There are some foods though that are recognized for improving your mood without the comedown. Perhaps instead of drugs, a dietary change for some people can do the trick. According to psychiatrist and professor James Gordon of Georgetown University's School of Medicine, what we eat affects how we think and feel: "It's a wake-up call to let us know our body is out of balance." |
Dietitian Wendy Bazilian says that "diet can help with virtually any chronic condition." People should make sure to include it as a factor in treating depression, a condition that requires an interactive approach combining food along with therapy, medication and counseling.
