Uclonewolf3 Musical Offering
![]() |
Welcome to the "A Musical Offering" challenge quizzes. This is the fourth edition of a "Community Quiz" game. Quiz authors who chose to take part in this game create quizzes with "A Musical Offering" in the title. No one knows what the others will come up with, so it is a game for both authors and quiz takers. All of them appear in the 'Community Quizzes' category. You are encouraged to take all of the quizzes in this group, compare them, rate them and send comments to the authors. Recently I wrote a quiz called "The Day The Music Died - Feb. 3, 1959". On that cold, snowy night in February, 3 famous musicians, Buddy Holly, J.P. Richardson (better known as "The Big Bopper"), and Ritchie Valens lost their lives in a tragic plane crash outside of Mason City, Iowa. They were all part of the "Winter Dance Party" tour. All members spent the beginning of the tour in a bus with a malfunctioning heating system. Due to this and a tight tour schedule, part of the members decided to fly on the plane. My musical offering is country music singer, songwriter and guitarist, Waylon Jennings. Waylon was hired to be Buddy Holly's bass guitarist for the tour. He was spared from the tragic plane crash by fate, luck or a kind gesture. He gave up his seat to "The Big Bopper" who had the flu, and with his large stature, didn't fit well in the freezing tour bus. Thanks to Waylon, part of the music "LIVED"!
