Eight persons are invited to Soldier Island by a Mr. and Mrs. U.N. Owen. They are expected by Thomas and Ethel Rogers but their hosts are nowhere to be found. Stranded alone on the island, the ten, who all committed murder one way or another, start to die one by one, following the patterns in the nursery rhyme "Ten Little Soldiers". Ten Little Soldiers, twenty quiz questions: one on each death, one somehow related to each killing method. Beside the book, the quiz is based on information from www.wikipedia.org.

The clock didn't actually belong to Vera Claythorne--it was just in her room at the house on the island.
