|Ever wonder what the cryptic looking numbers on a planes fuselage are all about?|
Well, every civilian aircraft worldwide has a registration number (sometimes called the "tail number").
The tail number is made up of a prefix selected from the country's specific callsign and the registration suffix. Depending on the country of registration, this suffix is a numeric or alphanumeric code and consists of one to five digits or characters respectively.
Knowing the registration numbers is a handy way of telling where the plane is registered, and more importantly, which country's maintenance regulations it has to adhere to.
So here we go... an entire quiz dedicated to aircraft registration numbers. Enjoy...
