Sexually Active Popes and Those With Wives

|Surprise, this quiz is not to be deemed offensive, it is merely some delicious morsels of Papal History. Many of the popes had wives and lovers. The Latin translation of pope is "Papa". So it would be fitting to have "Papa" as the Father or spiritual leader as head of the Roman Catholic Church. Quintessentially, one can say these Popes were "Papas" in more than one way in some situations. Amazingly, in this aspect of Papal History some Popes were not celibate after their election which proves they were subject to the laws of nature and not the Church.|
Obligatory celibacy was intended to be a restriction since there was so much political and economic power attached to the papacy particularly during 14th and 15th centuries. The person on top the elephant is a pope who truly enjoyed life. The red papal slippers are traditional footwear and believed to be worn by popes since the time of the Roman Empire. Our present Pope is believed to be the coolest pope because his papal slippers are designers. Esquire magazine named him in 2007 "Accessorizer of the Year" and one of the best-dressed men in the world. The devil may wear Prada; but, whether or not Pope Benedict XVI's crimson loafers are Prada, certainly they are more eye-catching than his predecessor's dreary brown loafers.
I do hope you enjoy these interesting tidbits of the history of these popes.
Thank you for taking my quiz.
