This is the beginning of a new series of Trek-related quizzes. I plan to do at least one quiz for each category (not sub-categories) offered here at Sploofus. My friends and family often tell me that I can relate anything to Star Trek, so why not put this skill to good use? I thought I would start off in the Technology category. Star Trek is known for its techno-babble and all of its cool gadgets. But did you know that many of those cool gadgets have become a reality, and others may soon be possible? And while some of these inventions were not exclusive to Star Trek, most certainly the Trek world has inspired so many real-life gadgets. In this quiz, I will describe either a Star Trek gadget and you have to name the current equivalent, or I will describe a current device, and you have to name the Star Trek equivalent. I have to disagree with the answer to #8 The humans did not regularly use a cloaking device. You used the word regularly and that is what made the question impossible to answer because according to the treaty between the Federation and the Romulans the Humans would not use cloaking devices. This fact was mentioned many times. The human ships did not have a cloak and neither did the Ferengi so you slipped on this question.
