Amending (Or Not) the United States Constitution

This quiz touches upon the process for effectuating amendment of the United States Constitution, some facts that I find interesting about certain successful constitutional amendments, and some of the proposed constitutional amendments that remain unratified. I would prefer that the speed demons who punish quiz writers for questions/answers they deem too long not take this quiz. I hope that to the extent this is unfamiliar subject matter to any of the takers of this quiz, you feel as if you have learned something by taking it.
The Constitution has only been amended 27 times since its adoption in 1789, and this includes the addition in 1791 of the ten amendments that constitute the Bill of Rights. Not surprisingly, hundreds of other efforts to change the Constitution have failed at various points in the process of effectuating amendment. Undoubtedly because so few efforts to amend the Constitution have ever come close to being successful, important issues of constitutional law relative to the amendment process have not been resolved.
