Between 264 and 146 B.C., Rome fought three wars against its great rival in the Mediterranean, Carthage, for control of the ancient western world. This is one of the most dramatic and decisive eras in Roman history. Following are some questions concerning the conflict. Left: This delightful and fun-loving fellow was one of the most determined men in history. He is most famous for the phrase, "Carthago Delenda Est." And, he even sowed salt in the wound when it was.
