Welcome to the March Challenge Quizzes -- a game for quiz takers and makers. This is my take on the Community Quiz, "Comedy." Some of you who answered my survey already know what this quiz will be about, and a huge thank you to all who participated! I polled Sploofusers, mostly those who wrote quizzes about architecture, but others as well, asking them to vote for their "5 Funniest Scenes in Movies." I heard back from 47 people (Sorry that this sampling is half the usual size, but there was some recent family health trouble with my father, so I was at the hospital instead of dutifully soliciting votes these last few days). But anyway, using a formula that combines the order voters placed their choices in with the sheer number of votes received, I tallied the results and have discovered what the overall Top 10 were. They are the focus of this quiz. So without further ado, the following quiz features the Top 10 Funniest Scenes from Movies that Sploofusers have voted for. Thank you so much to all of you who took part--you make this a lot of fun for me, and I can only hope you have fun seeing what you and your colleagues voted for. Steel Magnolias- the funeral scene where Olympia Dukakis grabs Shirley MacLaine to get hit 13. Cat Ballou- Lee Marvin and his horse are drunk 14. Young Frankenstein- Puttin on the Ritz! 15. Young Frankenstein- Abby Somebody...Abby Normal 16. 40-Year-Old Virgin- chest hair removal 17. Mommie Dearest- no more wire hangers! 18. Some Like it Hot- Lemmon, with maracas announces he is engaged 19. Monty Python and Holy Grail- killer rabbit at the cave 20. In-Laws (1979)- Serpentine! 21. Monty Python and the Holy Grail- The Knights who say 'Ni!' And here's one more bit of statistical analysis. Because some films have so many funny scenes in them they kind of get the short end of the stick in terms of having one scene stand out--in other words their many funny scenes are split amongst voters as opposed to a movie with that one funny memorable scene. So I thought I'd show you the Top 10 films in terms of overall votes, combining all the votes their various scenes received: 1. Blazing Saddles 2. When Harry Met Sally 3. Airplane! 4.
