|Welcome to the February Challenge Quizzes -- a game for quiz takers and makers.|
This is my take on the Community Quiz, "Manmade Wonders." Some of you who answered my survey already know what this quiz will be about, and a huge thank you to all who participated! I polled Sploofusers, those who wrote quizzes about architecture, and many others as well, asking them to vote for their "5 Favorite Architectural Achievements Throughout History" I heard back from 110 people, and using a formula that combines the order they placed their choices in with the sheer number of votes received, I tallied the results and have discovered what the overall Top 10 were. They are the focus of this quiz. So without further ado, the following quiz features the Top 10 Favorite Architectural Wonders that Sploofusers have voted for. Thank you so much to all of you who took part--you make this a lot of fun for me, and I can only hope you have fun seeing what you and your colleagues voted for.
PS: For the extra curious here are the Favorite Architectural Achievements that finished from 30th to 11th place:
30-Palace of Versailles
29-Petrona Towers, Kuala Lampur, Malaysia
27-Chrysler Building; New York, NY
26-Hanging Gardens of Babylon
25-Colossus at Rhodes
24-Notre Dame Cathedral, Paris
22-Channel Tunnel (Chunnel)
20-Frank Lloyd Wright's Falling Water
17-World Trade Center Twin Towers
15-Leaning Tower of Pisa
14-Gateway Arch, St. Louis
and just missing out on the top 10...in 11th place was The Roman Coliseum.
And please don't forget to rate the quiz! Thanks!
