Black Big Bandleaders of the 30s and 40s

As an American Indian born in the 1940s I know what it is to overcome great odds. These bandleaders did that, too. Often times they could not even play in an all white club, but boy did the white people flock to the clubs like the Cotton Club to see them. These are my favorites.
