Charles Baudelaire: A
![]() |
For me the poetic genius sine qua non, Baudelaire lived a riotous life that nonetheless failed to prevent him from creating a body of work unmatched in excellence and consistency by any other. Eons ahead of his time, he became almost deified by poets of the next and later generations, and in terms of influence he's most likely unmatched in terms of modern poetry, of which he can, without excessive hyperbole, be considered one of its most fertile forefathers. I could have made this quiz considerably more difficult without plumbing the depths of minutiae, but you will still need to know your stuff. Bonne chance!
