My Kinda Town, Chicago, Celebrated Polish Heritage
![]() |
Polinia, the Polish Diaspora, was celebrated in America during the month of October. Present day Chicago is known as "Second City," only because Chicago has over a million people of Polish ancestry or American citizen ship. For a million-plus Polish Americans, "Second City" has unique timbre: Their hometown, my kinda town Chicago, is second in Polish population outside of Warsaw, Poland. The Polish influence is quite noticeable in this city. Dating back to the American Revolution, the Polish people have made many contributions to the of Chicago. The history of this city has economic, social, and cultural achievements from the Polish community. I will mention an event, an organization, or persons who have made the history of Chicago a great city. I take pride in doing this quiz, since the Felican Nuns (a Polish Order) taught me in parochial grammar school. For those of us non-Poles I expect you will find this quiz informative. Thank you. Enjoy; and don't forget to rate it. pma.prcua.org/homeen.html wikepedia
