The art in comic strips and books is classic. Many movies and television shows used the original art and even added to it to create the characters we now know. When did these characters first appear in the comic strips or comic books? Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to guess the hero from the year first published. Characters include: Superman, Popeye, Dick Tracy and Li'l Abner. The Lone Ranger is from a novel and went to a movie before it became a comic. Tarzan, from a novel by Edgar Rice Burroughs, became a comic before it reached the movies.
