Coming of age in the Eighties

Being a teen-ager in the 1980's was like, totally awesome, fer sure. However, many of us might agree with the following quote by Charles Dickens: "It was the best of times, it was the worst of times. It was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness". Perhaps that could sum up the feelings of ANY young person from ANY era. As the innocence and insulation of childhood draws to a close, all of a sudden we begin to be aware of the status of the LARGER world around us. This big world can seem pretty scary at times as we realize that we are responsible to figure out our place in it, as well as try to learn what we can do to CHANGE it. Simultaneously, we revel in our youth and are rather loud as we protest childhood's end.
