Webster's defines an acronym as: a word (as NATO, radar, or snafu) formed from the initial letter or letters of each of the successive parts or major parts of a compound term; also : an abbreviation (as FBI) formed from initial letters. Some people prefer to be restrictive and include only the first part of the above definition. If your are one of those people -that would not call FBI an acronym-, this test is for you.
