|Background-Following the defeat of Napoleon, the new regimes instituted rather oppressive and conservative governments. Believing that the forces of liberalism and nationalism could be stopped, these post-Napoleonic rulers emphasized religion and respect for authority. Many of the reactionary politicians such as Metternich were eventually swept away by people who craved the freedoms expressed in the French Revolution motto of “Liberty, Equality, and Fraternity”. |
The questions in the quiz relate to the key figures, events, and locations associated with this era. As always, good luck!
