Making one movie is a remarkable task. Completing enough films to have created a franchise is far more remarkable. Creating a franchise with ten or more films is insane. This quiz focuses upon ten of those remarkable film series with ten or more big screen releases. The title warns that this quiz is for “Serious Cineastes Only” because, although most of the series will be familiar, these series are not limited to the United States and are not limited to movies made in the last 20 years. This quiz does not come from a single list, and there are series out there that have more films in them than some of the films featured here, so do not just scroll up a list of the series that contain the highest numbers of films. In general, these franchises balanced staying power over time with some significant (for their time) box office hits (or at least significant non-misses). So if you have time for more than just one film, warm up the projector bulb, pop some corn, hit “Start Quiz,” and let the screening begin.
