Welcome to another concealed-name quiz, this time involving famous world authors. To reprise the rules: Each of the following twelve questions is in the form of a sentence, which conceals the name of a famous prose author, playwright, or poet-- which you are invited to find. To add a wee bit of a challenge, you will not be asked to answer with the person’s name but rather one or two of their most famous works. Example: “That wainscot is fake.” “ThaT WAINscot is fake” conceals (Mark) TWAIN. The answer could be “Huckleberry Finn,” one of his best-known works. The hidden name may be extended across more than one word or across punctuation marks as well. To avoid possible ambiguity, none of the names are less than five letters: there’s no Poe, Shaw, or King, for example. Thanks for taking the quiz and I hope it’s as much fun to take as it was to make!
