Find the Concealed Country

Welcome to my second attempt at “hidden name” quizzes. Thanks to all those who spoke so complimentary on the first one!

Each of the following "lucky thirteen" questions is in the form of a sentence, which conceals the name of a current independent country somewhere in the world-- which you are invited to find. To add to the challenge, you will not be given the name of the country to select as an answer but the name of its capital.

Example: “Patti ran from this quiz!”

“Patt I RAN from this quiz!” conceals IRAN. The correct answer would be Tehran, which is the capital of Iran. The name can be extended across more than one word and across punctuation marks as well.

There is once again a bit of a theme in the sentences, since they all concern the wisdom of the savvy but inscrutable mentor named Guru Sam. Thanks for taking the quiz and I hope it’s as much fun to take as it was to make!
