|A National League team will be presented. |
The date, opponent and final score will be given. Pick the pitcher who threw the very first no hitter,in the history of that team, while in its present home.
For instance if the Montreal Expos still existed, the clue would be April 17,1969 Vs Philadelphia 7-0. The answer would be Bill Stoneman.
For the purpose of this quiz a no-hitter will is defined as, a complete game of nine innings or more where the opponent was held to no hits. They are allowed runs.
A game where the pitcher held the opponent hitless for nine innings but lost it in extra innings does not count. Nor does a rain-shortened game.
The National League has been in existence since 1876, however only games after 1902, when the American League was also part of MLB,were considered.
This quiz is very difficult.
