Forgotten Film Psychopaths 4: Violent Viragos!!

|Though they do exist, female serial killers are exceedingly rare in the real world. This is supposedly because most women instinctively internalize the damage from traumatic and psychologically devastating experiences, while men externalize it. To put it another way, a boy who endures unspeakable childhood abuse is likelier to develop sadistic tendencies and brutalize others as an adult as a means of coping with that trauma, while a girl who experienced exactly the same abuse would most likely develop masochistic tendencies as an adult, becoming a "cutter" or deliberately gravitating towards relationships with brutal men as HER way of coping with that same trauma.|
You wouldn't know it from all the homicidal women populating slasher films, though. Of course, the fact that women seem outwardly less sinister and dangerous than men often makes the it a more wrenching plot twist when it turns out that a brutal murderer was a demure, sweet-natured woman all along.
The female cinematic slasher, however, suffers from the same stigma as the male: no one remembers her. Oh, sure, everyone remembers Betsy Palmer's genuinely terrifying turn as Pamela Voorhees in the original "Friday the 13th", and people still remember the remorseless and manipulative (and boring) Catherine Trammell from "Basic Instinct." But the same way the boys are lucky when they get long-term recognition--Jason, Michael, Freddy, John "Jigsaw" Kramer, et. al.--for each one of them, there are literally hundreds (maybe thousands) of movie psychopaths who had no career longevity at all, like Monica Ranieri, shown here claiming another victim in Dario Argento's "L'uccello Dalle Piume Di Cristallo" ("The Bird With The Crystal Plumage").
That's why I'm dedicating this newest installment of the "Forgotten Film Psychopaths" quiz series to the murderous maidens, the distaff De Sades, the deadlier-than-the-male murderers who have populated movies all these years.
Enjoy! And if your girlfriend leaves the cap off the toothpaste or leaves the toilet seat up, just be grateful that's ALL she does.
