Frankie Lymon A Teenage Sensation

Frank Joseph "Frankie" Lymon was the first black teenage idol. Born in Harlem on September 30, 1942, he was one of four children; his father was a truck driver and his mother a domestic. He was discovered singing in a stairway. His style influenced many young singers. He had it all but died too soon of a drug overdose. He was small in stature but always stole the show.
