Fun With New Words
![]() |
So, dear Sploofuser, just how current and "with it" are you? Each of these 10 words, and the correct definition describing each of them, are among the words that Merriam Webster editors decided had achieved enough currency in English to be added to the latest revision to its Collegiate Dictionary, Eleventh Edition, released in 2003. Most (and perhaps all) of these are words you have already heard. Heck, you've probably even used some of them. All you need to do is pick the correct definition. But when in doubt remember, the most preposterous definition will now and then NOT be the wrong one. Have fun with this. (And, if you are really into words, check out my two "Words About Words" quizzes launched on 8/5/05.)
