Born James Newell Osterberg on April 21, 1947, in Michigan is the renowned 'Father of Punk Rock' as many have dubbed him.
He is one of rock and roll's wildest personalities and performers and substance abusers. He recorded several classic rock albums with his group, The Stooges and later became a solo artist. He worked extensively with rock's chameleon superstar David Bowie, and yes, that's Iggy Pop singing the theme song on the ubiquitous Royal Caribbean International Cruise Line commercials. ("Here comes johnny yen again / With the liquor and drugs [changed to "looks so fine" in the commercial]). Okay then let's get Iggy wit' it...
