Nicknames, or more appropriately, sobriquets, are fanciful names, usually given by others, which have become identified with a particular person. For example: 1) "The Iron Duke" is identified with Arthur Wellesley, Duke of Wellington. 2) "Caligula" (�Little Boots�) is a more familiar name for the Roman emperor Gaius Julius Caesar Germanicus. 10 people from different times in history and some information about them are given.
