How to Find Something You Lost: Buy A Replacement

It's one of Murphy's Laws: Y'know, ever notice that when you lose something, you can look high and low for it, but the only way you can be sure it will turn up is after you've bought a replacement for it. Then voila, "Oh there it is", under the sofa cushion...or in that drawer I thought I looked in 100 times. Man, that gets me steamed. I lose my head over that sort of thing. Unfortunately I can't buy a replacement for that.
