Irish dance is a wildly popular sport amongst both irish and north american's alike. It is very underestimated, as most dance often is. I can tell you as a dancer who has studied many types of dance, irish dance is by far the most challenging and rewarding type of dance. It takes many many years to get as good as the performers of riverdance. Im in my ninth year of studies (I've been dancing since I was 6) and I cant beleive how much more challenging it is as you go on.As I said before, it takes years and years of training,sweat and broken bones to dance like those in Riverdance, or Lord of the dance. In fact. Micheal Flatley who is considered "The fastest feet in the world" has been training since the tender age of 5. (interesting fact, my uncle was actually in the same irish dance class as micheal flatley). He can execute 20 trebles in a single second (The most I can do is two!!!) and is known as he best dancer of the century. If you would like to know more about irish dance, visit
