This quiz has received an Editor's Award for excellent content. Only the most unique and well written quizzes are eligible for this award.

quotJambalayaquotTheSongRemainstheSame Photo Although usually just recorded as "Jambalaya", the actual name of the song is "Jambalaya (On the Bayou)". For those of you new to "The Song Remains the Same" series, the topic of each member quiz is a single song. In this quiz, you are mostly asked about the origins of the song and to identify performers who have released recordings of "Jambalaya" from the information provided as part of each question. My self-imposed rule is that I must own a copy of any recording that figures as a correct answer in each of the "Song Remains the Same" quizzes.

I try to use recordings in a variety of genres for the questions in these quizzes. The "Jambalaya" quiz covers country, pop, Zydeco, and rock versions of our song, among others. There are at least 200 covers of "Jambalaya", and probably many more. I used all of my recordings of "Jambalaya" in the creation of this quiz.

The photo used for this quiz is the image of the correct answer to question 10, which is the hardest question in the quiz. This performer recorded a version of "Jambalaya" in 1975, which is about 30 years before this photo was taken.

So.... come on... "son of a gun, we'll have big fun on the bayou."

Way WAY too much of the writer's self injected into this. What's with all the "I's" and "me's"? All that succeeded in doing was making the questions way way too long! Enough with overly verbose questions!!!
