Julius Stein a/k/a Jule Styne: Broadway Legends

The subject of my third Broadway Legends quiz is Julius Kerwin Stein, to become known professionally as Jule Styne. He was born in London on December 31,1905. His family moved to Chicago when Styne was eight where he started his musical career. Over that career, Styne would publish in excess of 1,500 songs. Styne wrote the music for several well known and popular musicals. He was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1972, the Theatre Hall of Fame in 1981, and was a recepient of the Kennedy Center Honors in 1990. Styne died on September 20, 1994.
