|If you were born after 1970 you probably have never seen a daytime World Series game. However prior to the 1970’s World Series games were always played during the day. This quiz is about the history of night baseball. The first baseball night game was played September 2, 1880 between Gordon Marsh & Company and R.H. White & Company, two Boston department stores. The game was played at Nantasket Bay near Hull Massachusetts as part of the series of lighting displays put on by the Northern Electric Company of Boston to show the value of the incandescent lamp invented by Thomas Edison one year previous. The game ended in a 16 all draw. All quiz questions concern MLB. ”And there was Light”.|
