Major Airplane Crashes in New York City

|By now the whole country has heard about the miraculous Hudson River emergency landing of Flight 1549 of the US Airways Airbus A320 into the Hudson River. A flock of geese had flown into both engines of the craft, disabling it from being able to muster the legs back to LaGuardia from whence it came, nor any other airport.|
Captain Chesley Burnett “Sully” Sullenberger announced: “Brace for impact because we’re going down” and the heroic pilot glided the disabled jet with masterful skill onto the icy Hudson River that Thursday afternoon. In mere moments, an armada of police, fire and Coast Guard rescuers joined the Circle Line and the New York Waterway ferry service that had already rushed to the site.
Mayor Michael Bloomberg declared: “This outcome is as good as you could ever hope and pray for.”
