|The Academy Awards this Sunday will be the 56th one that is televised, as Jon Stewart hosts from the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood. While the ratings have declined somewhat over recent years, there was an upward surge in 1997 when "Titanic" was up for 14 awards, winning 11 of them. The producers of the show seem to pull out all stops sometimes in coming up with show-stopping numbers, and recently, The Sunday New York Times charted some of the more interesting moments in the history of the Oscars since they started to be televised in March 1953, including a list of some of the more memorable musical numbers performed.|
This quiz will focus on some of Oscar's most interesting musical performances since it started being televised; some of the numbers were quite nice while others were head-scratchingly bizarre. You can relive them here. Hopefully the upcoming awards show will provide a spectacle we'll be talking about around the water cooler.
If you have the chance, please rate the quiz afterward; Thank you!
