Hey Hey, from 1966 through early 1968, The Monkees ruled the charts like nobody's business.
Six Top Tens and three Number Ones along with a highly rated TV show and sold out concerts made The Monkees bigger than any other group on God's gray earth.
But all was not well behind the scenes.
In-fighting among members and their producer/Svengali Don Kirshner, in an attempt to become a real band that actually played their instruments instead of just providing vocals, signaled the beginning of the end for all things Monkee.
