More Words Even Older than Me
![]() |
This will be extremely difficult. When a quiz author constructs a puzzle, the challenge is NOT coming up with an answer. The real struggle is coming up with four alternative choices which sound reasonable. Kind of like playing 'Balderdash' where the other players can't watch your face. Apparently, I lie smoothly enough to run for office, based on the scores so far for the first quiz in this series. I love to write quizzes. I hate low ratings. If you are the type of person who rates a quiz low when you score low, please pass this quiz by. It will be very difficult, but you will learn some archaic words which will be new to you. All words come from an excellent little book titled "Lost Words of the English Language." If you're still with me, I hope you enjoy taking the quiz as much as I enjoyed composing it.

Interesting to see 'new' old words. Now try my quizzes 'Rank and Phile' and 'Baby Namely: Meaning?" Who knows? You just might score 100%.
Lots of fun! I love to learn new words, even if they are archaic. Should have deduced #3 - it sounds Friesian.
i actually knew five of these words --but on the other five your bluffs were too good for me!!
Well done
