Nicknames, or more properly, cognomens, are fanciful names, usually given by others, that were appended before or after a person’s name. For example: 1. Mary I of England is also known as "Bloody Mary." 2. Ivan IV of Russia is better remembered as "Ivan the Terrible." I will give some information on 10 world monarchs.
