Oh, brother...it's Barbie!

Out of the University of Bath:

Academics have reported, as part of an in-depth look by psychologists, girls between the ages of 7 and 11 exhibit startling behaviour toward their "beloved" Barbie Dolls.

"The methods of mutilation are varied and creative, ranging from scalping to decapitation, burning, breaking and even microwaving... No other toy or brand name provoked such a negative response."

“You might expect little girls to love their Barbie and expect an imaginary love in return. Instead girls feel violence and hatred towards their Barbie,” Agnes Nairn, one of the researchers, said.

Interesting, but no surprise, really. Personally, I remember placing a Barbie apiece on every blade of the ceiling fan...turn the switch and watch them fly!
