A cliche is basically any phrase, sentence or expression that has been so overused it’s almost a waste of your breath (see? There’s one right there) to use it. It is usually trite or commonplace, but the Lord only knows (and there's another one) whether or not people will ever stop using them. As long as you are familiar with the cliche, it can often shed light on (another one) whatever idea you’re trying to express. So now that we know what’s what (you can stop counting cliche’s now!) let’s quit frittering away our time and get down to brass tacks! I will list the meaning of the cliche in normal English and you chose the cliche I’m describing. Just jump in with both feet and in two shakes of a lamb’s tail, the moment of truth will be here.
