Of all the classic-era Pink Floyd albums, "Animals" is the strangest and darkest. Released in 1977 and coming on the heels of "Wish You Were Here" and "Dark Side of the Moon", this was an album not just for casual listeners. Roger Waters' grim and bleak lyrics, coupled with David Gilmour's bold blues-rock guitar lines, make this a haunting journey that rewards listeners time and time again.
